This was Brooke’s first music video – and despite only being 18, they had been recording and releasing music for almost 5 years previously. However, this was a hall of a lot more ambitious than any debut music video we’d built for in the past!
Brooke had 4 sets in mind for the shoot:
- A white void, that just required dressing with books
- A library alcove with a window
- A bathroom with sink and mirror
- A full size bath tub for an aerial shot, on a checkerboard floor

A white void was obviously the easiest set.
The cove at our base, Vessel Studios, is the largest white cyclorama in Merseyside! Because we had all that lovely space to play with, we could dress that setup at the center of the cove, and build the other sets on either side of it.

For the library, we put up a couple of flats, and hung a curtain and netting that would be back-lit. Given the budget available, we couldn’t bring in bookshelves, let alone fill them with books, so we papered it to look like shelves of books, and used one of our large tables to add depth and interest from the camera to the window.
The idea with this was that the eye would be drawn to Brooke and the window, rather than the 2D books to the left of the frame.

The bathroom mirror set was just two walls, papered with the color references provided by Brooke.
We then reinforced and counterbalanced the left wall so we could install a sink and mirror without it taking the wall down with it.

The last piece of the puzzle was the full size bath tub. Fortunately we already had a checkerboard floor – and the cove at Vessel has over 6m height – so the camera could get overhead shots with barely any effort.
We’re incredibly proud to have been a part of Brooke’s first video – and have been working with her on all her content releases ever since!
